Elliot Lake and region boasts a spectacular natural setting, which attracts outdoor enthusiasts for activities in all seasons. The city’s current strategic plan for economic development is focused on the further development of facilities to attract tourism.

“Destination Elliot Lake” was a plan created by the community to further develop Elliot Lake’s interests in the tourism sector.

The plan includes:

• The recent completion of a new 18-hole championship golf course which opened summer 2005. This golf course is one of the premier courses in Northern Ontario that attracts tourists, retirees and cottagers.
• The promotion and development of 400 plus cottage lots.
• Expansion to the city’s ski resort.
• Expansion and promotion of the regions trail system for use by ATV-ers, snowmobilers, hikers, mountain bikers, cross-country skiers, and all outdoor enthusiasts.
• Various improvements along the community’s lakefront adjacent to the downtown commercial area.

Aside from the plan above, Lake Elliot also offers a wide range of tourist activities within its beautiful surroundings.
